We were building a landing craft. This is where we came up with another trick by putting sand, which there was plenty of on the beach nearby, in the bearings of the winches. You got some sand from the beach here [pointing to a photo], put it in your pocket and when you’re on the job you just have to drop the sand in the bearings. Another big war effort!
